Prostate Cancer

Early detection is the best defense against prostate cancer, but as there are virtually no symptoms in its beginning stages, treating the disease before it advances is difficult.
Most of the patient
s diagnosed with prostate cancer are over the age of 50; men who are 65 or older are at a higher risk. Though doctors are still unsure why, African-American men tend to get diagnosed with the disease more than any other ethnic group.
Digital rectal examinations and prostate-specific antigen blood tests are methods doctors recommend to detect prostate cancer early.
